BREAKING: Jubilation As Peter Obi Overtakes Tinubu

Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Peter Obi Overtakes Tinubu

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has overtaken his rival from the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, in Lagos with the results of Saturday’s presidential elections declared in 17 out of the 20 local government areas of the state so far.

The three remaining local government areas where results are still being expected as of the time of filing this report are Mushin, Ojo, and Alimosho.

Although Tinubu has won more local government areas, he is trailing Obi by a slim margin of 1,686 votes.

While Tinubu has triumphed in 10 local government areas, polling a total of 447,192 votes so far, Obi is ahead in seven local governments, but is leading the tally narrowly with 448,878 votes.

The seven local governments Obi has won are Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, and Somolu, while Tinubu, a former governor of the state, won in Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Kwawanso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party are yet to win any local government area in the state.

While Atiku has polled 60,330 across the 17 local government areas where results have been declared so far, Kwankwaso has scored 6,870.
