    A reports reaching IBOM FOCUS that 8 COVID-19 Related Deaths, 665 New Cases Across 13 States

    Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory and 11 other states reported 665 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to figures released on Sunday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

    The health agency also reported eight additional COVID-19 related deaths.

    The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Sunday.

    According to the agency, the 665 new cases were recorded from Lagos, Anambra, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, the FCT and eight other states.

    Lagos recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 369 cases, Anambra – 68, Oyo – 63, Akwa Ibom – 48, Kwara – 28, Rivers- 26, Edo – 21, Ekiti – 15, Ondo – 13, Delta – 7, FCT – 3, Ogun – 3 while Gombe reported a single case.

    The health agency said the 665 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 181, 962.

    8 COVID-19 Related Deaths

    However, 166, 826 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

    With eight deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,219, NCDC said.

    It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
