Regina Daniels Opens Up About Health Struggles as She Celebrates 25th Birthday in Wheelchair
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about her prolonged health challenges, revealing that she has been battling severe pain and difficulty walking for several months.
The actress shared the revelation in an Instagram video posted on Saturday to mark her 25th birthday, where she appeared in a wheelchair and explained the reason behind her recent absence from social media.
According to Daniels, what initially appeared to be a minor health issue gradually worsened, leaving her struggling with mobility and, at times, unable to walk.
“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.
The mother of two explained that her condition became significantly worse after a children’s carnival she organised, leading to a series of medical tests and increasingly unbearable pain.
“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.
She added, “But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my children’s day carnival. One test after another, I jokingly started calling myself elaborate. The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried.”
Daniels also spoke about the emotional difficulties associated with her condition, particularly the experience of depending on other people for assistance with everyday activities.
However, she expressed gratitude for the progress she has made in her recovery, explaining that the recent improvement encouraged her to share her experience with her fans.
“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.
Regina Daniels married businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019, and the couple have two children together. Their marriage has frequently attracted public attention amid widely reported controversies.
