Ibom Focus reports that Uruan Council Boss Lead In Coconut Planting Exercise
In compliance with the directive of the state government to mark every 18th September as Akwa Ibom Coconut day, the Executive Chairman, Uruan Local Government Area, Hon. Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong , has led staff of Uruan Local Govt. Council to the planting of Coconut seedlings.
According to the State Government through the ministry of Agriculture, the exercise was necessary in order to provide constant raw materials to the coconut Oil factory/refinery.
Present during the planting exercise was the vice Chairman, Hon. Uduak Udoenang, Chairman, Head of Local Government, Mr Idorenyin Akpan, Chairman, All farmers association , URUAN chapter, Mr Peter Akpan Bassey, Dir of Agriculture, Mr Ambrose Itim, Assistant Dir. of Agriculture, Mfonobong Hilary, Dir of Social dev. Education information sport & Culture, Mrs Angela Akpan, Mr Michael Essien, Agric extension officer in charge of URUAN LGA.
Others were, Leader, Uruan Legislative Council, Hon. Sunday Bassey, Dean of Supervisors/supervisor for Education, Hon. Unwana Iwok, Councillors, Supervisor for Agric. NULGE Chairman, Mr Innocent Akpan, among others.
