Gunmen In Tinted Vehicle Kill Traffic Officer On Duty
Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Thursday morning killed a traffic warden of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) in Awka, the state capital.
The ARTMA officer whose name has not been ascertained at the time of filing this report was killed at the popular Aroma Roundabout while on duty.
A reliable source said that the ARTMA officer was killed by the gunmen in a Toyota Sienna vehicle with tinted glasses.
The source, who said the incident happened within a twinkling of an eye, told SaharaReporters that the traffic warden stopped the car and while he was about questioning the occupants of the car, one of them pulled out a gun and shot him on the head and the car sped off immediately while people around the area scampered for safety.
According to her, the killers of the ARTMA officer might be cultists as she said that another person whose identity she could confirm was also killed around the SU Junction at the Ifite area of Awka on Wednesday.
However, ARTMA has not made any official statement on the incident.
Also, effort to get the reaction of the police failed as the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga read a message sent to him for reaction on the incident but has not responded till the time of filing this report.
