Troops Maintain Firm Control As Terrorists Suffer Heavy Losses In Dawn Battles

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded significant operational successes against terrorists in the North East, neutralizing several insurgents and maintaining firm control of key locations.

In a well-coordinated dawn surprise operation conducted on 28 January 2026, troops of Sector 1 OPHK launched a successful attack on terrorist elements at Bula Dalo. During the encounter, over 12 terrorists were neutralized, forcing the remaining fighters to flee in disarray. The troops also recovered four AK-47 rifles, one PKT anti-aircraft gun, one Rocket Propelled Gun (RPG), and one Multiple Grenade Launcher.

In a separate deliberate operation, troops of Sector 1 further engaged terrorists at the Garno terrorist camp, where six terrorists were neutralized.

The operation led to the destruction of terrorists’ life-support structures and the recovery of a large cache of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition, further degrading their operational capabilities.

Meanwhile, in a related development, troops of Sector 2 OPHK at Sabon Gari were confronted with a coordinated ISWAP attack supported by multiple armed drones in the early hours of 29 January 2026. Although the terrorists briefly breached part of the defensive position, the gallant troops swiftly repelled the attack, held their ground, and restored full control of the location with timely reinforcement from nearby units.

Regrettably, some brave troops and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) paid the supreme price while defending the position. Additionally, an excavator and a low-bed truck were damaged as a result of the armed drone attack.

Exploitation of the area is ongoing as troops continue sustained operations to deny terrorists freedom of action and ensure lasting security across the North East.
