Nigerian Soldier Celebrating Birthday In Beer Parlour Shoots Man Dead
A Nigerian soldier, simply identified as Godwin has been accused of killing a resident of Marish village in the Bokkos local government area of Plateau State, Joseph Jelman.
A top source who is the Chief from the community, Joel Jimwan confirmed Jelman’s death to SaharaReporters.
The source added that the trouble started when the officer who was out celebrating his birthday in a beer parlour took out his gun and began shooting towards the roof.
Owners of the facility pleaded with him to stop causing damage to their property but he ignored and instead fired a shot that led to the death of Joseph, a passerby.
Recall that the Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN) had called for investigation into the earlier attacks on two communities of Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of Plateau State, where at least 15 persons were reportedly killed including a 200-level Computer Science student at the State University.
It was learnt that the attack took place in Tilengpat and Butura communities of the LGA while the residents were sleeping, around 9pm last Thursday.
