EXPOSED: Buhari’s Nephew, Aso Rock Cabal Plot To Replace Monguno With Buratai As NSA

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant and influential aide, Sabiu Yusuf, aka Tunde, has been reportedly fingered alongside some members of the Aso Rock cabal in a plot to replace the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, a retired Major-General with former Chief of Staff, Lt. General Yusuf Burutai.

The goal of the cabal, according to authoritative report in Pointblanknews.com was to bring corruption charges against Monguno and use same to convince President Buhari to sack the incumbent NSA. Part of the script was to install ex-Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. General Yusuf Burutai (retired) as the new NSA.

A top Aso Rock source confided in our reporter that Burutai who was rewarded with Ambassadorial job alongside other service chiefs has been reluctant to fully embrace the new envoy status “because he prefers to stay behind in Nigeria where he would continue to pull the strings with the cabal to cover up the mess he created while serving as COAS”.

Aso Rock Cabal Plot To Replace Monguno
Aso Rock Cabal Plot To Replace Monguno

Burutai was alleged to have struck several military hardware deals with members of the cabal especially in the days of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari. It was gathered that the cabal considers Monguno as a stumbling block in its game plan to continue with their sleazy arms and personnel cost deals in the guise of fighting insurgency war.

The unsavoury deals said to be in billions of naira and the non-cooperation they are getting from Monguno resulted in the plot to paint the NSA in corruption colour and consequently use it as alibi to convince Buhari to sack the NSA.

The remove-Monguno plot started last year after the NSA exposed the underhand and unconstitutional meetings being summoned and presided over by Abba Kyari with the service chiefs, without the knowledge of the NSA.

Aso Rock Cabal Plot To Replace Monguno
Aso Rock Cabal Plot To Replace Monguno

Aso Rock sources said the cabal had met a brick wall each time they tried to rubbish Monguno before President Buhari who is said to have special love for the NSA. A source specifically said the cabal had used such strategy before and it worked. He recalled how the cabal rubbished the image of former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, who was short-sold to Buhari as incompetent and unable to key into the agriculture blueprint of the Buhari government.

“This was why Audu Ogbeh was not reappointed as minister even when it was obvious that he made giant strides in agriculture working with Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Audu Ogbeh’s name was initially on the list but was later yanked off the list by Sabiu Yusuf, and replaced with Alhaji Mohammed Sabo Nanono from Kano before the list was transmitted to the National Assembly,” our source said.

The plot lost its momentum after the death of Kyari on April 17, 2020 but was resurrected shortly after Monguno granted interview to BBC Hausa Service reporter last week in which he expressed concern on the lingering war against terror and the inadequacy of military hardware to effectively prosecute the war.

According to findings, less than 24hrs after Monguno’s interview with the BBC, the cabal led by Yusuf aka Tunde directed the EFCC to fish for “whatever evidence” to indict the NSA.

Part of the moves according to a source conversant with the scheme, is to investigate Brigadier General Jafaru Mohammed, a Director of Finance in the office of the NSA.

General Mohammed is suspected to be a front of the NSA whom they allege has acquired properties on behalf of Monguno.

Fuel Scarcity: Black Marketers Roam NNPC Headquarters, Sell Fuel To Motorists, Photos

Black marketers have relocated to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Headquarters, Abuja, selling fuel to motorists opposite the towers at exorbitant prices and in brazen fashion.

On Friday that the black marketers, holding kegs of fuel and a short rubber pipe, sell 10 litres of fuel for as high as N4000.

As the two filling stations opposite the NNPC Towers were locked as of the time of visit, the black marketers are taking advantage of the fuel scarcity in the area and waylay desperate motorists.

“The fuel scarcity in Abuja has not completely subsided. Some filling stations are still either locked or refusing to sell because of some anticipated price increment. The black marketers are all over on every major road. They sell N200 and N300 per litre. They sell in front of NNPC Towers also. I bought 15 litres for N4000 yesterday,” a motorist, Hassan Jameel, said.

SaharaReporters had, on March 3, reported that black marketers hit major roads in the FCT, taking advantage of the biting fuel scarcity to sell fuel at outrageous prices.

SaharaReporters observed that the black marketers operate in densely populated areas such as Kubwa, Mpape, Gwarinpa, Nyanya, Asokoro and Lugbe Gwagwalada areas, mainly in the early mornings and evenings, selling adulterated fuel to desperate buyers.

The fuel queues had worsened following the shutdown of many filling stations amid heightened expectations of an increase in the product’s pump price.

Some motorists had told SaharaReporters that their troubles in getting fuel from the stations forced them to patronise the black marketers.

“We have not been advised of any increase in petrol price. Many filling stations are not selling petrol, perhaps because they have run out of stock or they are hoarding the product in anticipation of price increase,” the National Operation Controller, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mr Mike Osatuyi, had said.

Later on March 12, the Federal Government said it approved an upward review of petrol price to N212 per litre.

In its template released on March 12, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency revealed that a litre of fuel would now be sold for prices ranging from N209 to N212 per litre.

This was against N186; the crucial commodity retailed for in February.

The PPPRA said the landing cost of petrol in March would be N189.61 per litre as against N163.74 in February.

Leave North Within 72 Hours: Yoruba Elders Reply Arewa Youths

The Yoruba Council of Elders says nobody has the right to ask Nigerians living lawfully and doing legitimate business in any part of the country to vacate.

According to the group, Nigerian people have the right to settle anywhere in the country as provided in their fundamental human rights, except they violate the law.

General Secretary of the YCE, Dr. Kunle Olajide, said this on Friday in an interview with SaharaReporters.

He said this in reaction to the 72-hour ultimatum a Northern group, Arewa Youth Assembly, issued to a Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, to move Yoruba people from the North.

The Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Mohammed Salihu Danlami, in a statement on Thursday, had said, “We are now giving him the ultimatum of 72 hours to move his people out, or we will be forced to take necessary actions by personally taking the responsibility of getting his people back home.”

    Leave North Within 72 Hours
    Leave North Within 72 Hours

The group noted that Nigeria’s entity is non-negotiable and called on all stakeholders to reject anything that would confuse the land.

The statement partly reads, “One Mr. Sunday Igboho issued a statement in which he was quoted as saying enough is enough; that the time for the Yoruba nation is now, that they will no longer accommodate and accept the presence of Northerners.

“The constitution of the country has made it crystal clear that any Nigerian can live in any part of the country, irrespective of his or her religious and tribal placements.”

Reacting to the threat given by the Northern group, Dr. Olajide said, “Nobody has the right to compel anybody who is leaving lawfully and doing their legitimate business anywhere in Nigeria to leave a place to wherever. We’re all Nigerians and we have the freedom and fundamental human rights to live and settle anywhere so far we conform to the law of the land.”

He said the Nigerian government might not officially recognise such a group issuing the deadline for Yoruba people to vacate the North and there was nothing to be scared of with that threat.

He also said the security agents should intervene and arrest the criminals.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation himself, to ascertain if the people are safe or not.

“That Arewa Youth Assembly to the best of my knowledge, may not even be a registered organisation. The government may not recognise it. It is perhaps a group of two to five people issuing a statement. This is nothing to worry about.

“We have said frequently that not all Fulani are criminals. And if there are criminals, the government has to find them out and prosecute them. Yes, Sunday Igboho has the right to say whatever he wants to say.

“You cannot ask anybody whether Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, Tiv or any Nigerian to leave a part of the country whether Sunday Igboho or Arewa so far they are living lawfully. But, if they violate the law, then it is the responsibility to call the security agents’ attention to arrest and prosecute.

“The president should address the nation urgently to assure all citizens that Nigeria is safe. He should appreciate Nigerians and acknowledge their challenges and assure us that he’s doing his best.

“He should let us know what the security agents are doing to restore the security of lives and property. He should talk to us himself, not through anybody. That’s what is expected of a president. Then, go about the process of having a new constitution that will accommodate state police and local government police,” Olajide said.

I Took To Kidnapping Because My Cattle Business Required Too Much Work, Bandit Revealed

Two suspected bandits, Abdullahi Danshoho and Illiyasu Salleh, have owned up to their roles in the kidnapping of two patients and a nurse at a hospital in Nasarawa State.

The suspects and their gang members at large reportedly invaded Kunwarke Clinic and Maternity in Lafia, Nasarawa State, sometime in November 2020 and abducted two patients and a nurse.

They were alleged to have collected N6m ransom before freeing their victims.

Danshoho and Salleh were arrested recently by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team led by DCP Abba Kyari.

Married with four children, 25-year-old Danshoho stated that he was a truck driver but went into kidnapping because he was not making enough money from the job.

He said, “I finished my NCE (Nigeria Certificate of Education) in 2020 but I have yet to collect my results. I became a truck driver but things were difficult. I met my friend, Illiyasu (Salleh), sometime in September 2020 and he told me the easy way to make money. He told me that kidnapping was the only way out. He told me to look for people with money that we can kidnap.”

He said he had participated in five kidnap operations – the last being in December – including his neighbour’s abduction, who refused to give him money.

He explained that he gave the man’s details to Illiyasu, who arranged his abduction, adding that he got N100,000 share from a ransom paid.

Danshoho stated in a report by Punch, “Illiyasu arranged the second successful operation. That clinic is where we usually go for treatment. My job was to confirm that the director of the hospital was around. On the day we struck, I was sure that he was in the hospital. Unfortunately, he managed to escape. That was why they decided to abduct patients.

“After some days, they gave me N100,000 as my share. I did not complain because they told me that the patients were farmers and the nurse was from a low-income family. I later learnt that they collected N4m.

Not that I love Kidnapping, but My Cattle Business Required Too Much Work

“A week later, I brought the third job. It was my friend and we used to hang out. I decided to kidnap him because I was sure that his parents could afford to pay for his release. They paid N1.5m and I got N100,000 as my share. It was when he returned homesick that I regretted my action. I used part of my proceeds to pay outstanding fees at the school so that I can get my certificate.”

Salleh, 24, said he was into cattle rearing and farming but quit because they did not fetch him enough income. He said he decided to go into kidnapping “because it is an easy way to make money.”

“The truth is that we don’t make much money from cattle rearing and one needs to stay with a cow for many months before it will be ready for use. Kidnapping gives quick money,” he stated.

Narrating how the kidnapping at the hospital was carried out, he said Danshoho, who the nurses well know, pretended as if he came for treatment of headache.

He said, “I was outside. My gang members, Maigari, Bodejo and others (at large), entered the clinic but did not see the director. It was like he heard the gunshot and escaped before they could reach him. Maigari then decided to abduct two patients and a nurse.

“After a ransom was paid, l got N200,000 and was angry. I threatened to expose them if they did not give me an extra share. I got an additional N100,000 but I don’t know the actual amount that was collected.”

Several allegations including sexual harassment and assault have been levelled against Fani-Kayode in the last few days by some of his former domestic staff

They described the former Minister as an erratic and cantankerous man who had the habit of using his bodyguards to assault them and give them corporeal punishment.

A former driver, Jonathan Gaiya, who worked with Fani-Kayode for six months, told the PUNCH the first day he began working with the ex-minister, he witnessed him asking his police orderly to arrest a barber for overcharging him.

Gaiya said he was paid N70,000 by Fani-Kayode but was not given any food while workers were not allowed to leave the premises.

He said, “At different times, I have been sacked, beaten, abused, assaulted whenever I was caught sneaking out to buy food.

“On one particular day, Chief Fani-Kayode attempted to hit me with his slippers because I slowed down to take a sharp turn (while driving). He accused me of planning to cause him harm and demanded that the police carry out an investigation on me.”

It is very clear that Fani-Kayode Caught On Camera threatening his staff.

Gaiya alleged that anytime any of Fani-Kayode’s cars developed a fault, the ex-minister would deduct his salary and use the money to pay for repairs

Another domestic servant, Agbolo Edah, who is from Togo, said Fani-Kayode beat him up and tore his clothes because he was not satisfied with his cooking.

The cook said the working conditions at Fani-Kayode’s residence were horrible during the four months he worked there.
Edah in his affidavit stated that domestic servants were usually not allowed to leave the compound and were denied food.

The cook said, “I was assaulted at the slightest provocation while working for Chief Fani-Kayode. He would direct his guards to strip me naked and beat me up.

“One Bako, who is a body guard of Chief Fani-Kayode, is always tasked with strapping my hands and legs together while Chief Fani-Kayode would beat me up.

“I recall being pinned to the ground while Chief Fani-Kayode beat me up and kicked me continuously with his leg. I also witnessed Chief Fani-Kayode strip his staff completely naked on the allegation that they stole from him. He sometimes drags his staff to the police station where they were detained for days.”

A cook, Emmanuel Oko, said the ex-Minister once chased him around the house with a knife because he was not happy with his cooking.

Oko, who worked for the ex-minister for six months, said his salary was N150,000 but Fani-Kayode was fond of deducting his salary.

He stated, “Chief Fani-Kayode is a paranoid soul that gets angry for no reason. There was a time he held a knife and was walking around the table and said ‘I will kill you now’, ‘I will send you to hell now’.
