Time For Nigeria To Stand On Its Feet; NYMGLN Rejects IMF Loan And Soama Agreement, Harness Mineral Resources
Lagos, Nigeria – The National Youth Mobilization for Good Leadershipin Nigeria (NYMGLN) today calls on the Federal Government of Nigeria to reject the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan and the Samoa Agreement, and instead harness the country’s abundant mineral resources as a source of income.
As youth leaders, we believe that relying on loans and agreements that undermine our sovereignty will only perpetuate our nation’s dependency on foreign aid and hinder our economic growth. It is time for Nigeria to stand on its feet and utilize its natural resources to drive development.
We urge the government to:
1. Reject the IMF loan and the Samoa Agreement
2. Invest in exploring and exploiting our mineral resources
3. Ensure transparency and accountability in the management of mineral resources
4. Create jobs and economic opportunities for Nigerian youth
We cannot afford to mortgage our future by accepting loans and agreements that compromise our sovereignty. Let us work together to build a self-sufficient Nigeria that harnesses its resources for the benefit of all citizens.
