EXPOSED: How Amaechi’s Wife Looted N48b from NDDC,
Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s Minister of Transport, is fighting to keep his wife, Mrs. Judith Amaechi, out of jail for stealing N48 billion from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, while Nelson Brambaifa was acting Managing Director.

In January 2019, Brambaifa, an Amaechi crony, was appointed Acting MD of the NDDC. Following claims of corruption in the NDDC when he was in charge, he was fired in August of 2019. According to sources familiar with the transaction, Mrs. Amaechi obtained a N70 billion contract from the NDDC to train Niger Deltans in skills such as tailoring, soap making, carpentry, and others through her non-profit organisation, Empowerment Support Initiatives, ESI.

Mrs Amaechi’s wife got N48 billion after the contract was awarded to ESI, according to reports.
Mrs. Amaechi’s ESI claimed to have trained over 2000 women and youths from the twenty-three LGAs of RIVERS STATE, as well as non-indigenes, in COLD PROCESS SOAP MAKING and 100 women from the 23 LGAs of RIVERS STATE in elaborate fashion Designing in the following areas: Patterns and cuttings, Sewing, Finishing, Fashion &Designing, Colors, Packing, and General Management of Business.

ESI also reported to have completed the following training: Elaborate skills Training programme in Fashion Designing Sewing and tailoring, Hat Making & Millinery, Bead Making, Fashion Illustration, and Fashion Modelling are among the artisans supported by Ade Bakare Couture, a renowned fashion designer. Mrs Amaechi’s ESI was a major NDDC contractor, and she used Brambaifa, who was nominated for the acting MD role by her husband, to collect multiple contracts worth billions of dollars, most of which were never completed, according to a source at the agency.

Although one source stated that the N48 billion was paid to ESI in monthly instalments of N4 billion, another source from the NDDC’s Finance Department stated that the N48 billion was paid in weekly instalments of N4 billion. This is why Amaechi no longer talks tough or mentions 2023 or his ambition to his supporters. A source close to the Transport Minister told Pointblanknews.com that he is very concerned.

It was gathered that Amaechi is concerned that the Attorney General might use the documents relating to the looting in his possession to intimidate him now or in the future. Prof. Brambaifa, his sons David and Christopher Brambaifa, Chris Amadi, his wife Anna, Preye Brambaifa, Greg David Osuma, Clara Osuma, Mike Ayapaye, Uche Aleke, Sunday Aguebor, Brigadier Charles Nengite, and Tony Chukwu, all of whom are Amaechi’s lackeys, were all accused of looting over N100 billion within three months of Bramba The military is currently prosecuting Nengite, but the others are yet to be charged.
