The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) recently made significant decisions during its meeting on May 27, 2024.

Among the resolutions announced, the NEC dissolved the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Mr. Ajuji Ahmed and Mr. Dipo Olayokun, appointing Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major as the new National Chairman and Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday as National Secretary.

The NEC also upheld the six-month suspension of Governor Abah Yusuf of Kano State and confirmed the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party.

These actions were taken following the party’s adherence to its constitution and the findings of its Fact Finding Committee (FFC) and Conflict Resolution Committee (CRC).

Additionally, the party emphasized its commitment to transparency and legal compliance, particularly in supporting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with relevant information on alleged financial improprieties involving party members.

Furthermore, the NNPP reiterated the sanctity of its 2022 amended constitution and reaffirmed the leadership at its national headquarters in Abuja, located at Willands Plaza, Wuse Zone 4. The party emphasized that no other parallel offices would be recognized as the National Headquarters.

The communique, jointly signed by Umar Jibril and Omolara Johnson, underscored the party’s commitment to electoral transparency, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to update its records to reflect the new leadership under Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major and Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday.
