BREAKING : Scores Feared Dead As Explosion Rocks Abuja Expressway
A devastating tanker explosion occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday at Dikko Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Gurara Local Government Area, Niger State, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
Reports indicate that the death toll was significant due to people gathering to collect the spilled product from the tanker before the explosion.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander Kumar Tsukwam confirmed the incident but stated that the exact number of casualties was yet to be determined.
Reacting to the tragedy, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, expressed deep concern over the recurring incidents of tanker explosions in the state.
