All the National Assembly elections in Sokoto State have been declared inconclusive, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The commission in the state made this known in a statement by its spokesman, Dr. Shamsuddeen Haliru, noting that all the 11 Federal Constituencies and the three Senatorial Districts had not been returned.
“All the 11 Federal Constituencies and the three Senatorial Districts have not been returned. Therefore, supplementary elections are indicated,” he said.
Shamsuddeen said the commission declared the elections inconclusive due to a lack of credibility of the polls conducted in 471 polling units across the state.
He said the elections were also marred by irregularities, which compelled the commission in the state to declare them inconclusive.
Sokoto State has three Senatorial and eleven House Of Assembly’s seats.
