Tinubu To Consult Obasanjo, Jonathan, Others For Advice Over Economic Hardship, Challenges In Nigeria
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing under the aegis of PDP Youth Frontier on Saturday asked President Bola Tinubu to seek the guidance of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan on how to solve the current hardship his policies had subjected Nigerians to.
The group said this in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Usman Okai Austin.
The PDP youth wing stated that Nigeria requires a leader who can propel the country towards economic recovery because Tinubu has failed.
The party further stated that former President Muhammadu Buhari spent eight years in power blaming Jonathan and the PDP and that today, Tinubu and his team are following the same pattern, blaming the All Progressives Congress government under Buhari.
Okai said: “We require leaders capable of addressing the nation’s current challenges and steering us towards economic recovery and security solutions.
“President Tinubu should seek guidance from experienced leaders like Jonathan and Obasanjo to move the country forward.”
According to the group, Tinubu’s contribution to the development of Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, Lagos is overblown.
He noted that the former Lagos governor benefited from the state’s strategic position and former status as the Federal Capital Territory before it was moved to Abuja.
It accused the leadership of the APC of lacking an understanding of Nigeria’s complexities.
“Nigerians are struggling with economic hardships, leading to dropouts from schools and soaring prices of goods and services, resulting in the depreciation of the Naira.
“In the midst of economic and insecurity crises, the administration appears confused,” the statement said.
“Tinubu, considered the best within the APC, has failed similarly to Buhari in economic management. It’s time for him to take responsibility for his administration’s failures instead of resorting to blame games.
“Nigerians are suffering, and it’s evident that the APC is not the better option for the country.”
