Hon Ekpenyong Sets Up 5-Man Committee To Investigate Cause Of Community Crisis
The Chairman of Uruan Local Government Area Akwa State, Hon. Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, has expressed sadness over the caused of Community Crisis.
A 5 man panel of inquiry with the mandate to thoroughly investigate the communal issues between Oku Ikot Edung and Ikot Akpa Ekang has been inaugurated.
Surv Ekpenyong, during the brief inaugural session at his office, charged members of the committee to find out exactly what caused the problem, the consequences, and the implications.
The committee, headed by Engr. J. B. Effiong; Chairman, has Hon. Sylvester Ema, Barr. Favour Okokon, Mr. Daniel Effiong and Mrs. Uduak Atakpa as members.
The council helmsman encouraged the people to come and bare their minds to enable the committee to assess the situation, which, at the end of the day, will collate all the information and make their suggestions known to the Local Government Council.
He further appealed to both community stakeholders and youths to sheath their swords and see themselves as brothers, with everyone having the collective responsibility of protecting the community, urging them to maintain peace and avoid any kind of provocative approach to issues that may inflame passions.
Also in attendance was the council secretary, Arc. Destiny Edet.
