Information reaching Ibom Focus says that Ukraine Peace Negotiator Shot Dead
A Ukrainian peace negotiator has reportedly been executed after he was suspected of being a Russian spy, it is claimed.
The unverified allegation was made by MPs following the death of Denis Kireev, 45, with mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death.
Ukrainian officials said the former banker was killed in an operation to “defend the nation” and branded him a hero.
But a counter claim by an MP claims Mr Kireev died while he was being arrested by security services.
Kireev was present during tense talks with Russia last week, although his role is unclear.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko wrote on his Telegram channel: “During the arrest, the Security Service of Ukraine shot dead a member of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation Denys Kireev. He was suspected of high treason.”

The allegation was reportedly echoed by Ukrainian MP Alexander Dubinsky.
In an official statement Ukraine ‘s Ministry of Defence acknowledged Kireev was a spy, but said he was carrying out “special tasks” and was “defending Ukraine” – sparking speculation he was a double agent.
An official statement from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said: “During the execution of special tasks, three spies were killed – employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The fate of Alexei Ivanovich, Chibineev Valery Viktorovich, Denis Borisovich Kireev.
“They perished defending Ukraine, and their rank brought us closer to victory!
“We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
“Heroes do not die! They live as long as we remember them! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!”
Russian newspaper Pravda alleges that telephone conservations proved that Kireev was a spy, with a source claimed to have said: “He was an agent. You yourself know why agents are killed.”
Vladimir Putin has claimed his illegal invasion of Ukraine is going to plan in spite of reports of forces being “decimated” – and said he would only end the bombardment if citizens stop defending themselves.
Russia has been dogged by reports of low morale among soldiers realising they have been lied to by the Kremlin, with Britain’s top military chief saying it has “got into a mess”.
Ukraine’s ministry of defence this morning said it is inflicting “maximum losses” on Putin’s military as the brutal war goes into its eleventh day.
Nevertheless the Russian President, whose actions have turned the country into a pariah state, remains defiant following an hour-long talk with his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Erdogan.
He maintains that Russia would only halt its military operation if Ukraine stops fighting and meets demands, the Kremlin said in a statement.
