Rev. Fr. Alia Reveals His Cabinet Members
Benue State governor-elect, Hyacinth Alia has cautioned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against unnecessary worries over appointments.
He assured the party members that there were many opportunities to accommodate them in government based on their abilities.
The Catholic priest-turned governor-elect added that no one who genuinely worked for the APC victory would be left out.
Alia who disclosed this during the inauguration of a 27-member transition committee in Makurdi urged them to liaise with the committee set by the outgoing Governor Samuel Ortom administration to ensure a smooth transition come May 29, 2023.
Performing the inauguration, the governor-elect explained that the choice of the committee members was beyond partisan politics, pointing out that their consideration was based on their antecedents and expressed optimism that the members would represent the renewed hope in the people which the election has bestowed on the mandate given to the APC, by Benue people.
He charged the committee members to show maximum commitment and a considerable level of sincerity to demonstrate their patriotism while carrying out the assignment.
According to him, “millions of Benue people who voted the All Progressives Congress into power were looking up to them therefore, they should be fair , transparent and just in discharging their responsibility in the same manner of trust they have been selected as members of the committee.
“Your nomination into the committee to plan a successful handover is based on your integrity and the confidence the party has in your ability to deliver quality assignments based on your credentials, quality contributions to the party as well as your experience in your various fields of endeavours,” he said.
While praying to God for their wisdom to carry out the assignment effectively, the governor-elect congratulated the committee members for making the list and urged them to maintain the integrity that distinguished them in all fairness, trust and for the love of the state.
He also cautioned members of the party against unnecessary anxiety over appointments, pointing out that there are many opportunities to accommodate everybody in government based on their abilities, assuring that no one that genuinely worked for the victory of the party would be left out.
Responding on behalf of members, chairman of the committee Mike Iordye expressed appreciation to the governor-elect for finding them worthy out of over seven million competent Benue indigenes to serve in the committee adding that the trust repose them would not be taken for granted.
