A police investigation has begun into the missing of a graduate of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State whose whereabouts have remained unknown after she went for a job interview on Thursday, April 29.
Police said on Saturday, May 1 that two persons have been arrested in connection to the disappearance of Iniubong Umoren.
“Anti-Kidnapping Squad of Akwa Ibom State Command is already investigating this case,” a tweet from the official handle of the Police read. “As a matter of fact, two suspects have been arrested.”
The tweet added that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.

Calls have grown – both online and offline – for efforts to be ramped up so that she could be rescued.
Iniubong Umoren, who is reportedly awaiting mobilisation for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), went for the interview on Thursday at an undisclosed location along Airport Road in Uyo.

Reports say moments after she had left, she sent a one-second voice note in which a wave of struggles was detected. Since the episode, nothing has been heard about her.
The phone number that she gave before leaving renders the owner as one Ezekiel Akpan. Reports say the father of the suspect has been arrested.

Police in its update didn’t disclose the identity of the two arrested suspects but said officers are investigating and inquiries are ongoing.
On social media, many Nigerians from different parts of the country have rallied around the hashtag #FindHinyUmoren as many people express concern about the survival of the young job seeker.
