‘Rig and Die’: Omo-Agege Warns Those Planning to Manipulate 2027 Elections

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has issued a violent warning to anyone planning to rig the 2027 general elections, declaring that those caught manipulating the results would risk their lives.

Omo-Agege, who is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, made the remarks during a campaign, where he condemned electoral malpractice and accused those responsible of jeopardising the future of Nigerians.
The senator vowed to resist any attempt to manipulate the polls, repeatedly using the phrase “rig and die” to drive home his warning.
“Anybody who rig election that day, we will kill him. Rig and die. If you don’t value your life, come and rig election,” he declared.
He further accused election riggers of undermining the future of the country’s younger generation.
“They are rigging your future, they are rigging the future of your children. We are waiting for them. Let them try. Rig and die. We are going to do it aura for aura. We are just looking at them,” he said.
Omo-Agege also expressed dissatisfaction with the usual recommendation that candidates who believe an election has been manipulated should approach the courts for redress.
He argued that electoral fraud goes beyond individual political interests, insisting that it threatens the people’s right to freely choose their leaders.
His remarks come as political activities and preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
