VIDEO: NAF, Navy and NSIB Divers Intensify Search for Aircraft Wreckage in Ondo
The Nigerian Air Force recovery team, alongside specialist divers from the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), has intensified search and recovery operations at the site of the Nigerian Air Force ATR 42-500 aircraft accident in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The multi-agency team continues to work around the clock to locate and recover aircraft wreckage and other relevant materials that could assist the ongoing investigation.
The operation involves hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and the pumping out of excess water to improve access to areas of interest.
Additional aircraft components have already been recovered as the teams sustain efforts to retrieve materials for proper documentation and preservation.
The recovered components are expected to support the ongoing investigation into the aircraft accident.
