VIDEO: 15-Year-Old Girl Stuns Mourners as She Wakes Up Inside Coffin at Her Funeral
A shocking incident has been reported in Guatemala after a 15-year-old girl, who was believed to have died, suddenly woke up inside her coffin during her funeral.
The teenager, identified as Yuleidy Ixcotoyac, reportedly lost consciousness while her father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, was driving her to a medical centre.
According to reports, her father stopped the vehicle to check her condition but claimed he could neither detect her pulse nor notice any breathing. He subsequently believed his daughter had died in the early hours of Saturday.
“I saw that she was no longer breathing and I couldn’t feel her pulse on her wrists. It was a very difficult situation for me. She did not go to hospital,” her father reportedly told local media.
About eight hours later, the family arranged a funeral at their home in El Jocote, a rural village in Guatemala, with mourners gathering around 2:30 p.m.
During the wake, Yuleidy’s mother, Lesvia Ríos, reportedly noticed faint movements inside the wooden coffin as she wept over her daughter’s body.
The mother immediately insisted that her daughter was still alive, prompting the family to open the coffin.
“When I was crying over her coffin, we opened the window and she was moving. She was waking up, and suddenly she sat up,” Ríos reportedly said.
In a dramatic moment captured in a viral video, the teenager, dressed in a pink T-shirt, suddenly sat upright inside the coffin and began speaking, leaving her family and other mourners in shock.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing disbelief at the extraordinary turn of events.
