Troops Neutralise Explosives Planted by Terrorists on Zamfara Road
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have prevented a potential tragedy after discovering and neutralising explosive devices planted by terrorists along a road in Zamfara State.
The explosives were discovered along the Magami-Hannutara-Dansadau Road in Maru Local Government Area following credible intelligence received by the troops.
According to the operation, the troops secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search, during which they identified two locations where explosive devices had been planted.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was subsequently deployed to the scene. The team destroyed one of the devices and safely recovered and rendered the other harmless.
Following the operation, troops intensified patrols and surveillance along the road to protect residents and commuters and prevent further security threats.
Members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
