She Can’t Tidy The House, Everywhere Smells – Says Divorce Seeking Husband
A public servant, Adeboye Omotayo, has sought the dissolution of his marriage at a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, citing his wife, Ella’s persistent poor hygiene as the reason for his decision.
Omotayo, who resides within the court’s jurisdiction, stated that he could no longer tolerate his wife’s lack of proper hygiene, which he claims has negatively impacted their relationship.
In his filing, Omotayo expressed frustration and insisted that the situation had reached an unbearable level, leaving him with no choice but to seek a divorce.
“The main problem that I have been having with my wife after marriage, is that she doesn’t know how to tidy up the house.
“Whenever I come back from work to have my rest, I can’t because the whole house will be filthy and smelling.
“I tried coping with that but now I can’t continue because she has refused to take care of herself too; she is always looking unkempt, ” he said.
According to the petitioner, he feels used by the respondent who thinks she has achieved her aim by given birth to children.
“She has no love, respect and affection for me anymore,” he told the court.
Omotayo told the court that “my wife gangs up with her family members to insult, curse and threaten me.”
However, the businesswoman wife, denied the allegations of poor hygiene, countering her husband’s claims in court.
The Presiding Judge, Thelma Baba, advised the couple to explore amicable settlement for the sake of their children.
Baba adjourned the matter until Jan. 28, for report of settlement/hearing.
