NIS Shuts Down Services At Headquarters Abuja
The management of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has announced the shutting down of services at its headquarters in Sauka, Abuja.
The service said the shutdown was due to President Bola Tinubu’s commissioning of the NIS Technology Complex.
The NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI KT Udo, who made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday said that the NIS headquarters would be shut down on Tuesday but its online portal would remain operational.
Udo said, “The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to inform the General Public that all services at the NIS Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja, will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024, due to the Presidential Commissioning of the TECHNOLOGY COMPLEX in the Service Headquarters.
“During this period, the following services will be affected in the NIS Service Headquarters: Passport Issuance and Renewals (Biometric Capturing); other related Immigration Services and Banking Services within the SHQ.
“All applicants and members of the public are advised to make necessary arrangements to visit the NIS Headquarters after the said date. The NIS online portal will remain operational to serve your needs.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary shutdown may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
