WATCH: ‘Video Wasn’t AI’ — South African Content Creator Rejects Oshiomhole’s Claim Over Viral Foot-Rubbing Clip

A South African adult-oriented content creator at the centre of a viral private jet video involving Nigerian Senator Adams Oshiomhole has dismissed claims that the footage was generated using artificial intelligence, directly contradicting the lawmaker’s explanation.

The woman, identified as a South African lifestyle influencer and explicit content creator, reacted via her Instagram status barely two days after Oshiomhole described the clip as fake and AI-generated.

In the short post seen by Naija News House on Friday morning, she wrote: “Video wasn’t AI but okay believe your senator.”

She also pushed back against Nigerians who attacked her online after the clip surfaced, stating earlier: “Your senator is the problem. Go be mad at him, not me.”
Her comments have further fuelled public debate surrounding the widely circulated video, which shows a man resembling Oshiomhole rubbing a woman’s foot aboard what appears to be a luxury private jet.

It was earlier reported that checks confirmed the woman in the footage is not Oshiomhole’s wife, contrary to initial speculation on social media. Some users had claimed the woman was his spouse, Iara Fortes, a Cape Verdean lawyer and former model.

However, investigations indicate that the woman is a South African lifestyle influencer and adult content creator associated with the TikTok handle @leshaandagama, Instagram handle @shaandg47, and a former Instagram account, @leshaan_dagama. On her Instagram profile, she describes herself as a “professional sugar baby” and advises broke people to “stay away.”
The clip, which began trending on Monday, sparked outrage across social media platforms and reignited conversations about political excess, elite privilege and widening inequality in Nigeria. Many Nigerians questioned how a serving senator, often criticised for benefiting from Nigeria’s broken political system, could be seen openly displaying luxury amid widespread economic hardship.

Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North, has denied any involvement in the incident.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Oseni Momodu, the 73-year-old lawmaker described the footage as fake and AI-generated.

“The media office of His Excellency, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has noted with dismay a poorly crafted and edited fake AI video of the outstanding Senator allegedly massaging the foot of a lady,” the statement said, urging the public to disregard what it called a false narrative aimed at blackmail.

Oshiomhole further characterised the clip as criminal cyberbullying and vowed to investigate its source, arguing that close examination of the footage revealed inconsistencies suggesting manipulation.

He also used the controversy to call for greater regulation of social media, warning against what he described as malicious content creation driven by the quest for online clicks and monetisation.

The controversy has drawn added scrutiny due to Oshiomhole’s political history. A former textile worker and ex-president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, he rose to national prominence leading strikes against fuel price hikes before becoming governor of Edo State in 2008. He later served as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and returned to elective office in 2023 as senator for Edo North.

Critics argue that the optics of the viral video stand in sharp contrast to his past image as a labour activist and advocate for the working class, further intensifying public backlash as the debate continues online.
