Border Security And Financial Crimes Top Agenda As NIS Boss Meets EFCC Chairman
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Kemi Nandap, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, paid a working visit to the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, at the Commission’s Corporate Affairs Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
The visit was aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the EFCC, particularly in the areas of border security, intelligence sharing and the fight against transnational crimes and financial misconduct.
During the meeting, Mrs. Nandap emphasized the critical role of synergy among security and law-enforcement agencies in addressing emerging threats such as money laundering, human trafficking, cybercrime and illicit financial flows across Nigeria’s borders.
She noted that effective cooperation between the NIS and the EFCC would enhance national security and improve Nigeria’s capacity to prevent criminals from exploiting border vulnerabilities.
In his remarks, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede welcomed the Comptroller-General and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service. He stressed that coordinated intelligence sharing and joint operations remain vital in tackling financial crimes with cross-border dimensions.
Both leaders expressed optimism that the engagement would further deepen institutional cooperation and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s internal security and economic stability.
