Man On The Run, Cries Out For Help After Wife Delivered 11 Babies

The family of one Mr Yahaya Imam Nafiu whose wife, Chognika Latoyossi Alake, gave birth to 11 babies has cried out for assistance.

Nafiu hails from Onikẹkẹ Compound, Popo Giwa, Ilorin, Kwara State, while his wife is from Ajase in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and they both live in Ajase.

The elder brother of Nafiu and Imam of Iponrin, Alhaji Zakariyau Nafiu, said, “Nafiu was born and schooled in Ilorin before he left for Cotonou 19 years ago for business.

“Alake is his third wife and had two children for him before this incident; apart from the children from the other wives.

“But two babies are dead with nine left, and we don’t want further fatalities.”

While disclosing that they informed the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and other relevant people about the development, he said, “We want to relocate them home; which is not easy with the present situation of the family.”

Another brother of Nafiu, Alhaji Yahaya Isiaq Onikẹkẹ, pleaded with the federal and Kwara state governments, as well as well-to-do individuals, to assist the family, saying, “Because we don’t have the capacity.”

The elder sister of the children, Habiblah, said their mother first had “six children at a maternity in June, in Cotonou. We thought that was all, but she kept saying she was not feeling fine, which prompted a scan which discovered that some babies were left.

“She returned to the maternity ward in August, where she had the remaining five babies.”
