FULL LIST: Supreme Court Shortlists Tinubu’s Lawyer, 86 Others As New SANs
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has shortlisted members of the Nigerian bar to be elevated as the latest class of senior advocates.
The senior advocate position in Nigeria is highly coveted by Nigerian legal practitioners. The LPPC, under the Supreme Court’s umbrella, bestows this honour yearly. Oluwole Afolabi, a Nigerian-born attorney who helped President Bola Tinubu fend off cases in the United States, was among the latest cohort of senior lawyers, according to a July 1 memo from the LPPC seen by Peoples Gazette. Mr Afolabi holds law licences in Nigeria and the United States and runs offices in Abuja and the New York metropolitan area.
The list contains 87 practising lawyers and 11 legal academics.
