Tension As Lifeless Body Of Young Man Found Near Transformer In Benue

Lifeless body of middle-aged man found near transformer in Makurdi
The lifeless body of a middle-aged man identified as Terhide Garfa was found close to the transformer at Kanshio community in Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State.

An eyewitness who simply identified himself as Nick said that Garfa’s body was found at about 3;45 pm on Thursday.

Nick, a resident of Kanshio expressed surprise at how the deceased entered into the fenced transformer.

According to him, “someone said that he had him saying that he wanted to speak with his mother or he would kill himself but the person did not know if he was able to speak with his mother or not.

“The next is that people saw his lifeless body close to the transformer.

Speaking on the incident, Corporate Affairs Manager Jos Electricity Distribution Company, Dr Adakole Elijah described it as strange.

Elijah said that the transformer where the lifeless body of the man was found is fenced and could not fathom the reason behind the deceased action.

He said, “We found it strange that a transformer that was fully fenced, somebody could enter into the place and we don’t know really what happened, whether it was a case of suicide or attempted vandalism.

“The pictorial evidence shows that the man forced himself into the transformer.JED has always warned people not to go close to it’s installations.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Benue State Command, Catherine Anene confirmed the incident and said that investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the man’s action.
