Terrorists Disguised As Women Attack Police Checkpoint In Katsina, Kill Policemen
Terrorists locally dubbed as bandits who disguised as women have targeted a Nigerian police checkpoint along Jibia-Batsari road in Katsina, killing two inspectors in Gurbin Magarya village.
The assailants, suspected to be bandits, fled with the officers’ rifles, leaving behind the operational vehicle and teargas at the scene.
According to Daily Trust, a security source who confirmed the incident on Friday, said the attack took place on Thursday, noting that the victims were members of the police Joint Border Patrol.
The source added that their bodies were taken to the Katsina General Hospital.
In a related incident, gunmen in their numbers in the early hours of Friday attacked the Gangara community in Jibia Local Government Area, where they killed four residents and injured six others.
A resident of the community who confirmed the attack added that the attackers kidnapped an unspecified number of residents, majority of them women and children.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, did not respond to an inquiry for confirmation as of the time of filing this report.
He promised that he would investigate, and give feedback.
