2023 Governorship: TACN Declares Support For Pastor Umo Eno
Following the 2023 Governorship, Ibom Focus reports that TACN Declares Support For Pastor Umo Eno
Akwa Ibom State Territory of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, has declared its total support for the 2023 governorship aspiration of Pastor Umo Eno.
The Chairman of the Territory, Apostle E. I. Uye made this position known earlier today, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 during a consultation visit to the Territorial Council by the leading governorship aspirant in the state, Pastor Umo Eno.
Ibom Focus gathered that the Chairman of the Council, Apostle Uye described the consultation visit as a glorious homecoming of a child of destiny, and thanked God for choosing God’s servant as the next person to man the state and further peace and security.
In his words, “I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for the swift action on his much anticipated succession plan, and who, after prayerfully waiting on the Lord was divinely guided to unveil you, Pastor Umo Eno as the man every Akwa Ibomite should rally round and vote for to occupy the Hill Top Mansion, come May 29, 2023.
“We consider the Governor’s action not only timely but as a strict adherence to the scriptural injunction on the modus operandi of choosing a king as recorded in Deuteronomy 17:14-17.
While we also appreciate the Governor’s stance from the view point that success without a successor is no success, we make bold to say that it is only through this directional approach that a consolidation on the various developmental strides, coupled with the massive industrialization drive could be achieved.
“Most importantly, the prevailing peace we enjoy in our state presently is everything that we desire and without mincing words, it would be catastrophic and the greatest error of this generation if we, by error of omission or commission be allowed to be taken back to the dark days of total insecurity, brutality, bloodshed, abuse of human rights and loss of lives,” he added.
Affirming the support of the Church, the Chairman said, “as a church, while assuring you of our total support on this journey, be rest assured of our continued prayers towards the actualisation of this vision for the good of Akwa Ibom State, the Christian community and the political spheres come 2023.”
Addressing the church council, Pastor Eno said he was in the council to present himself, adding that though a member of the church, it was imperative to officially notify them of his gubernatorial aspiration.
He recalled that the Uyo Field Superintendent, Apostle (Prof) I. N. George had over a year ago, shared with him a revelation in his favour, and appealed to the church to continue praying for him to succeed.
Pastor Eno assured everyone that his victory would be a victory for the church stressing that he would further peace and prosperity, create a conducive environment for the growth of the middle class while connecting the dots of sustained development across the state.
Introducing the aspirant, the Director-General of Campaigns, Amb. Assam Assam, SAN noted that Pastor Umo Eno is a great asset whose aspiration has attracted state wide endorsement and therefore, urged the church to also support one of their own to further the developmental strides in the state.
At the meeting were members of the council including; the Etinan, Uyo, Eket, Ikot Abasi, Ikot Ekpene, and Ikono, Field Supretendents, – Apostles S.A. Isiah, I. N. George, U. S. Ukpong, E. U. Johnson, E. O. Akpan, and G. U. Akpakpan respectively, as well as A. B. Inyang and B. E. Okon.
