The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the right of male Federal civil servants to 14 days of paternity leave to bond with their infants.

This was disclosed to State House Correspondents on Wednesday by the Federation’s Head of Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, following the week’s virtual FEC meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, presided over by Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).

She explained, is to allow for proper bonding between the father and a newborn, whether natural or adopted, particularly during the child’s early years.

Mrs. Yemi-Esan continued by stating that fathers of adopted infants under the age of four months will also benefit from this gesture.
