Lady Poisoπ 65-year-old Man
A chilling case of murder has gripped the Oko-Oba, Abule-Egba area of Lagos, as the Police Command announced the arrest of a woman linked to the death of a 65-year-old man.
Confirming the arrest, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police, revealed shocking details surrounding the incident in a statement on Sunday.
The case, which initially baffled investigators, took a dramatic turn when authorities uncovered a disturbing sequence of events that led to the grisly murder of the man.
According to Hundeyin, the police received a report on March 29 about the discovery of a man’s body at a service apartment in the Oko-Oba area.
“On March 27, at around 5:20 p.m., an unidentified woman rented the apartment with the deceased,” Hundeyin explained. “But just hours later, she mysteriously left the scene, taking with her the man’s car and valuables, and telling the housekeeper she would return shortly.”
However, when a routine check was conducted on March 28, the man’s lifeless body was shockingly discovered inside the apartment. The scene left investigators stunned—an empty syringe, two cans of malt drink, and bottles of water were found beside the victim.
The body was swiftly transported to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary for an autopsy. Police immediately launched a manhunt to locate the woman who had vanished after the crime.

On Saturday night, the breakthrough came when the suspect, whose identity had remained elusive, was apprehended around 9:30 p.m. in Oko-Oba.
“She confessed to poisoning the deceased by spiking his malt drink with a toxic substance, leading to his tragic death,” Hundeyin revealed.
Through further investigation, police were able to identify the victim, who had been initially unnamed.
The suspect, who is now in custody, has been linked to a series of unsettling details that continue to unfold as the investigation deepens.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reassured Lagos residents that the force is fully committed to ensuring safety and justice, vowing that anyone involved in criminal activities would face swift retribution.
“The hunt for those who bring harm to our community continues, and justice will be served,” Hundeyin concluded.
