TCN Begins Construction Of New 330kV Turn-in Turn-out Transmission Line At Ihovbor

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Region, wishes to inform the public that it is constructing a new 330kV Turn-In Turn-Out Transmission Line at Ihovbor Work Centre, involving the stringing of the Ihovbor–Ajaokuta 330kV Transmission Line.

The project commenced on Friday, February 27, 2026, and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, March 30, 2026.

This project is aimed at enhancing TCN’s capacity to evacuate more power from the Azura Power Plant and the NIPP Power Plant to transmission substations across the national grid. It will also improve transmission channels, provide additional capacity, and strengthen the reliability of bulk power supply.
Upon completion, the two lines will enhance the capacity of Ihovbor Transmission Substation.

This initiative underscores TCN’s continued commitment to expanding its transmission network and wheeling capacity for improved efficiency and reliable power supply across the country.
