They Have Now Realised Hunger, Hardship Is Their Turn — Sowore Mocks Tinubu’s Supporters
Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow has stated that the supporters of President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections known by the Yoruba slogan, “Emilokan” (It is my turn) have now realised it was their time to experience hunger and hardship.
Sowore spoke with newsmen after the trumped up treason trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday brought against him by the Nigerian government for leading a revolutionary protest in 2019. The government later discontinued the case on Friday morning and it was struck out.
The 2019 and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) noted that as he predicted, many Nigerians would join his call for a revolution when it became difficult for an average citizen to feed, which was exactly what citizens were experiencing as a result of the Tinubu government’s disastrous policies.
He said, “The good news is that the revolution they are running from is getting closer. As I’ve always said, when the revolution wants to happen, a lot of events will happen. But the last trigger is always hunger. And the people of Nigeria are very hungry this time, Yeah, The hungry man is a revolutionary. So Nigerians have been taken for granted. They have been battered. People have been destroyed, businesses are leaving the country once again. People cannot afford to feed anymore, even if they want.
“Insecurity everywhere, kidnapping in every corner. And the currency of the country. We also warn in this court when people were saying that Buhari has left that “Emilokan” would be worse than Buhari, that is Tinubu and it has also come to pass. Tinubu does not even care about anybody, except himself and his criminal colleagues, and board members who are running Nigeria. Nigeria Plc. They have done everything to destroy the economy.
“They’ve done everything to break an average Nigerian. And those who are saying that it is our turn. What is their turn now is suffering, hunger, starvation, sorrow, you know, and a bloody lifestyle that is intolerable. Yeah, the revolution that they have been running away from is now.”
